He’ll end up in Pitt - xFuBaR
I have a possibility:
Sens get - Maatta, Simon, Hallander, and a 1st
Pens get - Stone, Ceci, and Ottawa retains 50%
Senators want 2 players that can help them win now. Pens are a win now team, this is a win now trade. Plus the Pens are already in cap hell for next year, and they're going to have to trade someone who has a significant salary. |

What’s so unbelievable about him going to the Flyers? We have tons of prospects, a 1st that could be top 10 and roster players as well. If an extension is part of the deal, that’s what it will cost. |

Stone & Duchene trades will equal the Muzzin trade return at best.
Muzzin was a top 4 D with another year on his deal at 4M per.
90% of the teams who would realistically trade for these 2 at the deadline wont have room to sign them next year so they are rentals plain and simple. |

Package is likely easily outbid by other teams and why do you want Ceci? |

If the Pens trade Maatta they'll be down to just 7 NHL defensemen, I would think they would want to have 8 going into the playoffs. |

Why would Stone want to go to PHI? - Feds91Stammer
We have a good mix of talented players that he can compliment, a ton of young guys who will be coming in between this year and the next 3-4 years including a top goalie prospect, we’ll have the cap space to give him pretty much whatever he wants, and Philly as a city is enjoyable to live in (*expects joke on Philly as a city*).
Why wouldn’t he want to come to philly? |

Yes he would. Want him out of the division, though. |

Stone to the Avs for the 2019 1st rounder and Cale Makar. Maybe Pageau gets thrown in. Depends on how eager Melnyck is to shed salary. |

So if Edmonton were to chase this - would a package like this work?
To Edmonton: Stone
To Ottawa:
1st round pick (gives the Sens a mid-range first)
2nd round pick (or Ethan Bear)
Jesse Puljujärvi (still a high-level prospect?)
Milan Lucic (salary dump - but Oilers retain 25% so Sens bite)
Probably not rich enough. Oilers have such crap assets it's really sad, and saying the Sens want help for NOW is silly - they need to blow up and rebuild.
Thoughts? |

I know Mtl has cap space, but he will ask for a lot of $$$. Might be worth it, but I would rather see Bergevin going after a defenseman. |
